Cora the Common Owl
I had the privilege of quilting this lovely wall hanging for Kathye Wolter. The pattern she used is Cora the Common Owl by Laura Heine. She made it to go on the wall of a new baby's room, and planned the colors to match the decor.
I just love all of the detail she put into this! Each of the flowers is individually fussy cut from printed fabric and fused in place. Some of them are only 1/4" in diameter!
Kathye even found a print with some little baby owls to put in the hole in the tree.
She requested that I quilt it with randomly spaced straight lines to make an irregular grid. We chose a variegated pink and brown thread, and I made sure to go over all of the little pieces of fabric.
She's planning to bind it with one of the darker blues. It's the perfect quilt for a sweet baby girl. I'm sure it's going to be well loved in its new home.
